The prominent East London based contemporary artist Chris Moon, is a self taught artist who has exploded onto the British and American contemporary art market in the last 10 years.

Moon describes himself as an outsider artist who finds his reclusive nature combined with his obsession with colour, shape and form has sculpted him into the artist he is today. Moon’s body of work draws upon past memories and events that he reproduces with a dream like effect across the canvas. As the viewer, you are drawn into the work, layer by layer. The canvasses act as a record of places Moon has been, people he has known and experiences he has felt.

Moon’s work has been collected by international icons including Paul McCartney, Gemma Arterton, Michael Fassbender and Ed Sheehan. In 2018 he was the subject of An Artist’s Eye by legendary documentary maker Jack Bond, who previously worked with Salvador Dali, Charlotte Rampling and Vanessa Redgrave. The film examines Moon’s complicated relationship with his pictures. A world record price for Chris Moon was set in 2014 at Paddle8 with the hammer falling at $49,000.
