Chris Moon

I first met Chris in a squalid, sprawling penthouse studio in London’s East, somewhere around the Barbican. It was one of those brutal 60’s buildings, now unloved. He was simultaneously producing great self portraits and distracted by making lots of painted post cards of a very exotic beauty he was obviously bedding. I remember thinking I’d like to get him to paint Miss Moscow but I definitely didn’t want to leave them together for the ‘painting’ process. Chris is a good looking bastard too.

I was taken along by AK47, the protagonist in our film The Banksy Job, which has just premiered on Sky Arts. We have since fallen out. Chris has remained a friend and buddy - I have followed his career with interest as I think he’s just a superb natural talent. He is coming of age and starting to finish his pictures properly rather than engaging his next project in his mind whilst still on a current one. I went to a show of his where he had produced a lot of small canvases of his time in LA. We were chatting away, the show was a sell out, and very patiently Ed Sheehan was waiting beside us to get a word in to see if Chris would paint him something. I was very sad to sell my Self Portrait with Balloon in the Aynhoe Park sale.

But…Mr Moon has given me a little secret preview of what is to come - and a portrait of me!

I’m determined Lamberty gets a couple of canvases to sell. Contact us please and I can tell you what I have.
